ABCs of a More Perfect Workplace

Designing a Future of Work where all workers thrive

We are at a key moment of change in the way businesses, leaders, and workers operate.

Seismic shifts in technology, the economy, and workers’ expectations call us to reimagine how work - works.

ABCs of a More Perfect Workplace (ABCs) takes a people-first look at how to create a more equitable and sustainable Future of Work.

ABCs will amplify the insights of those already working in this area, while facilitating conversations and research offering new perspectives.

The goal is to develop recommendations for people- and equity-conscious leaders to positively shape how business is done in their companies and teams.

Why ABCs

As a career coach, I help people navigate the good and bad of work every day.

I’m also intrigued by how organizations work and ways to reconcile business and individual interests.

ABCs of a More Perfect Workplace is an invitation to co-design a mutually-beneficial Future of Work.

It is less of a criticism of workplaces, but rather a chance to collaborate and create something new.

ABCs asks, “What rights, responsibilities, and rituals support a more equitable and sustainable Future of Work?”

Let’s answer that, together.

FAQs

Why are you doing this?

I am passionate about improving the experiences and outcomes of all workers, especially those from traditionally underrepresented and marginalized groups. I want to take a proactive approach to designing and building a Future of Work that finds harmony between profitability, productivity, and people interests.

Who can participate?

EVERYONE who supports the ABCs mission is encouraged to participate. ABCs will especially uplift the perspectives of Black women and other people at the margins who navigate systemic pressures alongside general work considerations.

What happens if I have a recommendation for a topic that was already covered?

You can still submit recommendations! This is a living, iterative process and changes are welcome. Our goal is to reach the best answers even if that means revisiting ones that were already proposed.

How else can I get involved?

We want to bring together a small group to help guide the direction and growth of ABCs. If you are interested in helping out, message me on social media or drop me a line here.
